Things to look for when evaluating the trees on your property:
• Are there large dead branches in the tree?
• Have any branches recently fallen from the tree?
• Are there detached branches hanging in the tree?
• Are there any cavities or rotten wood along the trunk or in major branches?
• Are mushrooms present at the base of the tree?
• Are there cracks or splits in the trunk or where branches are attached?
• Have adjacent trees fallen over or recently died?
• Has the tree started to lean?
• Do the major branches come from one point on the trunk?
• Has a lowered soil level damaged the root system?
• Are the roots damaged from; new pavement, repaired sidewalks, dug trenches?
• Have you altered the property by; construction, new lawn, or changed soil level?
• Have the leaves prematurely changed color or size?
• Have trees in adjacent wooded areas died or been removed?
• Have any trees been heavily pruned or topped-off?
